Unable to send gifts or request energy

I cannot send out gifts as well. Can click the lightning bolts on leaderboard but not sure if that actually goes through to friends on leaderboard. Gift box opens up for request but is blank with no names.

We are supposed to be able to send gifts and energy to friends once per hour. I can send the energy, but not the gifts. My husband's name is not on my friend's list now for the last two days. Every one I sent a gift to 2 days ago is not on my list. VERY FRUSTRATING...PLEASE POPCAP FIX THIS ISSUE. I love the game and play it all the time.
